Service area refers to the total area under the coverage of a field service provider. Within a service area, the field service provider is responsible for dispatching field technicians and resolving customer issues in person. Service areas are typically divided into segments. Each area segment is assigned to a specific service group, who are made responsible for resolving all service tasks originating from their designated service area.
