Task properties are a list of attributes associated with a service task. They can be used to convey information to the field technician when assigning the task. Example: Product Type, Problem Type, Priority, Status, Warranty Status.

Service task properties are essential for support workflows to be executed such as status, priority, and field technician assigned to the service task. Other properties like problem type or service type or any custom property, are used to convey information to the field technicians and apply automation rules more easily.

Companies can create custom properties based on the industry they are in, their size, or business needs. For example, product companies can create a custom property to categorize the service tasks into out-of-warranty requests, in-warranty repairs, and replacements.
